Webdespite the clinical importance of patient‐centred care in the sonographer/patient interaction in obstetric ultrasound, there has been very little current research in australia on sonographer and sonologist communication practices in the event of an adverse finding. Webgeneral ultrasound examinations are conducted by a range of allied health professionals, including radiographers, nurses, midwives and physiotherapists. The main themes that arose from the interviews with sonographers were i) managing the patient encounter, ii) managing themselves, and iii) the importance. Webso rather than properly train the sonographers to have uncomfortable conversations (which, by the way, many can do quite capably), some hospitals and clinics wonder if they should ‘policy’ their way out of risk by not allowing them to talk. Webdespite the increasing importance of ultrasound, there is a shortage of sonographers in the united states that has never been specifically quantified. Webfive themes were generated, depicting the impact of the pandemic on obstetric sonographers: 1) continuity in a crisis; 2) decisions about me, without me; The effects of a caring relationship between a sonographer and a patient; Circumstances limiting a sonographer in being a caring.
